Our History

Local 696 received its charter from the United Auto Workers on November 17th, 1939. For over six decades, UAW Local 696 has stood for the rights of the American worker. UAW Local 696 is a member of Region 2B of the International United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America.

Free Workshop

October 25th,2008 at Sycamore Woods Trotwood Community Center from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. phone 937-449-1610. This workshop is to assist people who are having trouble with their mortgage in any way.

 

 

 

 

TRAINING FUNDS FOR ALL DISLOCATED WORKERS

The Delphi Needmore Road, Johnson Controls Industries facilities are approved for training funds based on its current status of having employees “Displaced” through no fault of their own.

Trade Assistance Allowance (TAA) funds are made available as a result of an active Trade petition that was approved in 2006 for manufacturing employees who lost their jobs as a result of work shipped out of the country.

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is another source of federal training funds used to assist ALL dislocated workers with retraining opportunities.

Note:  Trade petition for Plastech is pending!
